Mini Statement

“You can get everything in life you want if you will just help enough other people get what they want.” Prakash Foundation NGO was conceived when a group of people thought that a time has come for them serve the society. Many of them after establishing their respectable careers realized the need to work for the underprivileged ones. Also some members of the group who are young busy in establishing their careers didn’t want to wait long to serve the society. The dedication and commitment inspired all the members to join hands to establish a goal and identify the beneficiaries and begin working, begin serving.
The goal of our NGO is to bring Prakash Or Light or Roshni in the lives of the underprivileged women and children.
The aim is to focus on the underprivileged women and children and also the women more privileged but lacking confidence and opportunities to share their talents. The response to Prakash Foundation NGO is overwhelming. We are getting many hands to volunteer in various activities of our NGO. So far Prakash Foundation has brought cheer on the faces of students from underprivileged schools. They are being prepared for various extra-curricular activities along with teaching sessions by professionals from software and HR background who are working for well-known corporate. We are proud to be associated with these professionals and also the young students, studying for MBA coming to assist in imparting skill and raising funds for the various activities of Prakash Foundation.
In our endeavour to serve for a cause we would look forward for any kind of support from like- minded individuals as there is no limit for the social work to be done for uplifting girls, women and children. Meenakshi Malik
A postgraduate from Miranda House , Delhi University and an educationist with two decades of experience working in reputed schools of Delhi and Mumbai. She conducted various workshops for children in British Council Library, New Delhi. Her passion of working with children of various age groups prompted her to take the experience to underprivileged children with a focus in improving their academics and exposing them to the opportunities that would make them realize their potential. This is now being achieved by her with the launch of her NGO Prakash Foundation that works for children and also for empowering women as they are the mother , sister at home and empowering them would lead to improving the social condition of children and underprivileged families in our society .

A postgraduate
A postgraduate from Miranda House , Delhi University and an educationist with two decades of experience working in reputed schools of Delhi and Mumbai. She conducted various workshops for children in British Council Library, New Delhi. Her passion of working with children of various age groups prompted her to take the experience to underprivileged children with a focus in improving their academics and exposing them to the opportunities that would make them realize their potential. This is now being achieved by her with the launch of her NGO Prakash Foundation that works for children and also for empowering women as they are the mother , sister at home and empowering them would lead to improving the social condition of children and underprivileged families in our society .

Pali Waraich
Pali Waraich is a household name in Mumbai for her dedication to help needy women. She has generated employment for over 200 women who are widow or specially challenged by handing over a small tool to them – Crochet and Thread. Paliji believes that these women can do wonders when given an opportunity. In fact the crochet dress or lace developed by these ladies is worn by the likes of Lara Datta and Kiron Kher. Her designs are being showcased by Tarun Tahliani in his shows. Paliji is helping Prakash Foundation by imparting the crochet skill to our ladies and by also giving them crochet designs to develop into laces and mnay household items like cushion covers, handbags, sofa covers, table mats etc.

Gunjan Khatri
Gunjan Khatri Gunjan graduated with a diploma in Early childhood care and education, she has a vast experience of teaching in various public schools in Delhi, Chandigarh as well as Jammu. She has a strong inclination towards social work and actively participated within NGO FOD family of disabled in Delhi and in another NGO in Chandigarh. In addition to this, she conducted English classes for children in Jammu and for adults in Ajmer. Due to her inclination for social work and her passion for working with children she is currently working as the Project Coordinator for the foundation. She’s responsible for the development of new programs and initiatives. Gunjan likes to joke that she loves citrus fruits so much because she needs the sourness to balance out her naturally sweet disposition – we couldn’t agree more!

 

Our Helping Hands

Ankita Gupta
Ankita Gupta is a young enthusiastic person actively participating in various projects conducted by Prakash Foundation. Currently she is pursuing her P.G.D.M. (Marketing) from Birla Institute of Management Technology. The zeal to serve the society is so high that the studies pressure does not stop her from offering voluntary services. She is helping us in conducting market research and generating funds for Women empowerment & Child Development. She is fun loving person who likes to sketch.

Jasleen Kaur Waraich
Jasleen Kaur Waraich is 21 years old, originally from Mohali. She did her schooling from St. Xaviers, Chandigarh and graduation from Amity University, Noida. She is an introvert person who believes in listening rather than talking. “Action speaks louder than words” that’s how she works and strongly sticks to it. Her secret of success is putting her heart, mind, and soul into even smallest act. She believes in herself, she knows her weaknesses better than her strengths and that’s how she tries to improve herself every day. Jasleen is simple yet very passionate individual. Jasleen is helping Prakash Foundation by developing presentations on various Social aspects. These presentations are used in counselling children and parents. She is also helping us by doing the market research on various aspects.

AnkitSaraff
AnkitSaraff is one of our active dedicated participant who constantly thinks about helping others in some or the other way. He is doing his PGDM-Marketing from Birla Institute of Management Technology (BIMTECH), Greater Noida. Within the college he teaches security guards or people from low-economic background. As a member of the Core Committee – Agarwal Youth Express, he successfully organized and led various events under the banner of Agarwal Samaj, Hyderabad. This is from where he developed the liking and interest in working for a social cause. Ankit offered his voluntary services to Prakash Foundation and helped in generating ideas for promoting Prakash Foundation and in generating funds that could be utilized for women empowerment and child development.

Madhu Shukla
Madhu Shukla is a highly talented,enthusiast person who wants to learn more and impart more. After completing her NTT, she preferred to teach children belonging to under-privileged category. She always says that it is easier to teach privileged children, the real challenge is to teach children who lack in facilities. Due to her keenness about learning more Madhu under went a stitching course and created beautiful table mats, tea-cozy, napkins and aprons. Additonally, she taught under privileged ladies to make and decorate hand-made paper bags and shagun envelops.

Shikha Malik
Shikha Malik has been actively participating in various social services. She is associated with different NGOs and is dedicated in bringing benefits to the underprivileged ladies and children.She has a keen interest in block printing and she uses this talent in decorating hand made paper bags and shagun envelops. She also trains under-privileged ladies in block printing and Diya colouring which helps these ladies in generating a respectable income for themselves.

Preeti lata
Preeti lata is an artist who gets satisfaction in a day when she holds her colors. The professional instruments she lays out every morning are her brushes, slotted tool , a needle tool, an embossing tool and paper that looks like a painter palette and a whole lot of adhesive. It’s her passion which started from her school days. Interest in craft naturally became a hobby.London based SureStart’ enhanced her craft skills to help her live with her passion. This passion she further uses by conducting art and craft session for our under-privileged ladies and children.

Held at Convention Centre, New Delhi City Centre (NDCC), also Known as mini Vigyan Bhawan, Chief Guest Shri Birender Singh (currently Union minister of steel), attended by ~100 scientists from different countries. This was the first of its kind where scientists from USA, UK, and other countries participated.
